A small group of Lutherans gathered with the Rev. D. A. Shetler in an upper room of Quincy’s police station on 8th Street—the first worship service of the congregation that would become Luther Memorial.

A lasting home
The congregation acquired land and established its home at 12th and Jersey. For more than 130 years, this historic church has marked marriages, milestones, worship, and service.
Today
A living welcome
Luther Memorial continues to serve its neighbors and welcome people without hesitation, reservation, or exception. We joyfully celebrate marriages between two people of every sexual orientation and gender identity.
